So you live in Dallas...but you don't have Taco Plans today? It's a good thing you have us around.

To some, it’s baseball season.
To others, it’s time for hockey.
But for the VPP team…it’s Taco Time.

And if you’re stranded at home or work today because you forgot to make Cinco De Mayo plans, you’re in luck, because we’ve done some pre-season scouting for you. A lot of it. Where around town are you? Because there’s a taco stop you can run to today.

If you haven’t tried them yet, Tacodeli is a PHENOM. Their menu is unique and their ingredients super fresh. Basically, get any taco on the menu that features grilled queso fresco, and your life will be changed forever. Don’t skip out on the chips and queso, either.
So basically…if it says “queso,” order it.

Too far of a drive? Here’s a little hint: they have locations in Dallas AND Plano.

Every once in a while you come across a rare taco gem, and reader: you’ve arrived. At $2.49 for Mexican Street Tacos and $3.99 for Signature Tacos, you can try all of it.

And that’s exactly what we recommend.

But listen. Shhhh… lean in close. *looks around* There’s an off-menu migas taco you’re going to want to ask about. The only reason we’re not saying it louder is to make sure we get some first.

Also they have a hot sauce bar. Mild to Extremely Dangerous.

Oh hello, gorgeous. Where you been hiding?

Right off of Main Street in Frisco, that’s where. If you’re looking for authentic, then check out the subtitle on their sign. THEN check out their Tacos Al Pastor.

Quick tip: head here early to catch a table outside or get your order in to-go. Not a lot of seating room, and the line is going to get long — not just because of this ultra-popular blog post, either. The food will speak for itself, and when it does…you’re welcome.

We’re gonna let the Tupy Tacos speak for themselves:

A Tupinamba Tradition Since 1947 Our family recipe combines the highest quality ground beef, spices and vegetables to make the most mouth- CAMARONES - Grilled shrimp with grilled onions, bell peppers & tomatoes, served watering taco beef filling. A fresh corn tortilla is filled with the Tupy Taco beef & then is deep fried to golden perfection. Served with lettuce, tomato, cheese, rice, & on a bed of rice, with sliced avocados, salad & borracho bean

They’re famous. They’re delicious. They’ve been perfected for over 60 years. Come on, now.

We used to think 7 tacos were plenty. We were wrong.

Taco Ocho is quintessential Latin, and they mean it. We can vouch for them when they say, “Our fresh, made-from-scratch food features bold, authentic flavors inspired by traditional Latin cooking. We use real premium ingredients: fresh produce, all natural cheeses, sustainably-sourced seafood and preservative-free tortillas.”

You’ll find tacos here that you won’t find elsewhere, and amidst a stiff competition of list-toppers lies the Pura Vida Taco. It has plantains, and, frankly, that’s one of this author’s favorite foods. Inside of this author’s favorite food.

And if you’re looking for a double bonus: there aren’t 8 tacos to choose from. There are 16.

It’s really hard to post about tacos without the mention of a Torchy’s. Why? Because they’re amazing.

We love this Plano location’s covered patio, and you may not beat that in Spring right now.

But if location, location, location isn’t enough: worry not. Torchy’s has what may be a MAJOR deciding factor in today’s taco bracket: All day breakfast tacos.

You read that right. That means that the Wrangler is available all day long: eggs, potatoes, smoked beef brisket and cheese, topped with tomatillo sauce on a flour tortilla.

If you drool on your keyboard, it’s going to break.

What a time to be alive, and what a time to live in Dallas. We talk a big game about our area’s growth, great schools, and endless list of fun & activities…
But I think we might have just uncovered the main reason people are relocating.
