What: Grapevine Night Watchman Tour

Why: Uncover Grapevine’s eerie past on a 90-minute walking tour, including a haunted winery tasting room. The tour is presented by Grape Vine Springs Winery and ticket price includes a glass of wine

 

What: Dallas Fan Days

When: Fri. Oct. 20th – Sun. Oct. 22nd @ 4:00PM (Fri) and 9:00AM (Sat-Sun)

Where: Irving Convention Center at Las Colinas

Why: Dallas Fan Days, which is focused on comics, sci-fi, horror, anime and gaming, is packed with exciting family-friendly activities, celebrity and comic guests, vendor and much more.

 

What: Bloomin’ Bluegrass Festival and Chili Cookoff

When: Fri. Oct. 20th & Sat. Oct. 21st @ 4:30PM (Fri) and 11:30AM (Sat)

Where: Farmers Branch Historical Park

Why: Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder headline this year’s bluegrass music festival, a two-day event that combines great music with a chili cook-off, kids activities, arts & crafts marketplace and delicious concessions.

 

What: Steinfest

When: Fri. Oct. 20th & Sat. Oct. 21st @ 5:00PM (Fri) and 10:00AM (Sat)

Where: Haggard Park

Why: Oktoberfest-style festival celebrates great beer, German-inspired food and fun. Besides great eats, there will be dancing in the streets to live polka bands, wiener dog fashion show, keg bowling, vendors in the Morada Plano Marktplatz, and family fun in the Kids Zone.

 

What: Arts & Ale for #TexasArtistsStrong

When: Fri. Oct. 20th @ 6:00PM – 10:00PM

Where: The Better Block

700 W. Davis St., Dallas, TX 75202

Why: Little D Markets is teaming up with Better Block Foundation, Fresh Arts and local D-FW artists for Arts & Ale in hosting a pop-up market to support the recovery needs of artists in Houston who were affected by Hurricane Harvey. The more you shop with the local artists and artisans joining us, the more money will go toward the relief fund. Admission is free.

 

What: Sinbad

When: Fri. Oct. 20th @ 7:00PM

Where: House of Blues

Why: Sinbad made his comic rise during the 1990s and has not slowed down since! The funny man continues to draw huge crowds that cannot wait to check out the comedic punch lines.

 

What: George Lopez #Thatstrue Comedy Tour

When: Fri. Oct. 20th @ 7:00PM

Where: Toyota Music Factory

Why: George Lopez is a comedian, actor & beloved talk-show host. He has made a name for himself with his stand-up routines, and his sharp and intelligent commentary on Mexican-American life, experience and culture.

 

What: The Nirvana Experience: Celebrating the Anniversary of the Infamous Trees Show

When: Fri. Oct. 20th @ 8:00PM

Where: Trees

Why:  Celebrating the anniversary of the 1991 Nirvana legendary concert by Nirvana at Trees is still talked about as the place where Kurt Cobain got punched in the face by a bouncer

 

What: Dallas Coffee Day 

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 9:00AM – 3:00PM

Where: Life in Deep Ellum

Why:  Coffee lovers can choose a morning or afternoon session to drink great coffee and espresso. Both sessions feature 10 local roasters. Iincludes a coffee mug and tote bag, latte art throwdown and espresso bar.

 

What: Flea Style Fall Show

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 9:00AM – 5:00PM

Where: Dallas Market Hall

Why:  Flea Style kicks off the fall season with a curated pop-up featuring 220 vendors from all over Texas with focus on local: art, fashion, décor, lighting, textiles, handbags, food, pet gear, paper goods, kids’ items

 

What: Pumpkin Patch Party with  Van Poole Properties

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 11:00AM – 2:00PM

Where: Coyote Creek Park

Why:  Join VPP for their 4th annual Pumpkin Patch Party! Lots of fun activities for everyone, including: costume contest, face painting, bounce house, pumpkin decorating, trick or treating and more!

 

What: Texas Veggie Fair

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 11:00AM – 6:00PM

Where: Reverchon Park

Why:  Celebration of vegetarian cuisine features food from restaurants, food trucks and other purveyors. There will also be chef demonstrations, speakers, a children’s area, live music, yoga, games and a beer garden.

 

What: ArtsGoggle

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 12:00PM – 10:00PM

Where: Near Southside

1606 Mistletoe Blvd., Ft. Worth, TX 76104

Why:  The 15th annual ArtsGoggle is a free celebration of community art and artists in Fort Worth’s eclectic Near Southside neighborhood. Art displays of every kind, live music on 5 main stages, food and drink vendors will be spread across 15 blocks. Family and pedestrian friendly.

 

What: Bach & Broomsticks

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 12:00PM

Where: Watters Creek at Montgomery Farm

Why:  A day of fun-filled, Halloween-themed activities and entertainment for the whole family. There will be Halloween crafts, face painting, balloon art, free hayrides, an instrument “petting zoo” and much more.

 

What: FriscoVania

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 4:00PM – 9:00PM

Where: Toyota Stadium

Why:  Friscovania is a family friendly Halloween extravaganza full of frights and fun. Designated the Mayor’s Safe Trick-Or-Treat Zone, Friscovania features a haunted carnival for kids, live music, entertainment and a wicked runway show with some of the biggest names in fashion. Proceeds from the event benefit City House.

 

What: Rockin’ The Square: A Historic Block Party

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 6:00PM – 10:00PM

Where: Historic Downtown Garland

108 N. 6th St., Garland, TX 75040

Why:  Downtown Garland is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the city is celebrating with a block party. Bring a chair or blanket and find a spot on the square to enjoy live music and fireworks. Downtown restaurants will be open, food vendors will be site or bring your own picnic.

 

What: Zombie Pub Crawl

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 7:00PM

Where: Deep Ellum

Main St. and S. Malcolm X Blvd., Dallas, TX 75226

Why:  The Zombie Pub Crawl through Deep Ellum is so popular, zombies will be divided into two groups this year: The Walking Dead and Zombie-Land. Groups will stop in the same bars, just at slightly different times

 

What: Hip Hop Cowboys 1st Annual Fall Rodeo

When: Sat. Oct. 21st @ 7:00PM

Where: Will Rogers Coliseum

3401 W. Lancaster Ave., Ft. Worth, TX 76107

Why:  Rodeo meets rap as Hip Hop Cowboys rides into Fort Worth. The family-friendly rodeo combines the extreme sport of rodeo with a celebration of hip hop music. Live performances by rapper Slim Thug and blues/zydeco artist Vickie Baker complement the non-stop rodeo action. Rapping pro bullrider Craig Jackson.

 

What: Skate or Die Fest

When: Sun. Oct. 22nd @ 1:00PM – 10:30PM

Where: Gas Monkey Live

10110 Technology Blvd. E., Dallas, TX 75220

Why:  Skateboarding, music, art and culture meld for a fun and nostalgic festival at Gas Monkey Live. There will be live music on two stages, skating contests, professional skate demos, live art, a puppy petting zoo, curated artists marketplace, plus great food and drink options.
