What: Christmas in Cowtown Holiday Market

Why: Junior League of Ft. Worth presents the annual holiday market where you’ll find more than 200 merchants selling home decor, jewelry, clothing, gourmet food, children’s toys and clothing and seasonal items

What: Red River Showdown Party
When: Thu. Oct. 12th – Sun. Oct. 15th @ 6:00PM
Where: Henderson Tap House

Why: The Red River Showdown will take place a few miles from Henderson Tap House, but any fans who can’t make it to the game are welcomed for a tailgate party unlike any other watch party in Dallas. Henderson Tap House is the official home of the OU Club of Dallas and will offer exclusive specials.

What: Red River Celebrity Softball Game: Texas vs OU

Why: Matthew McConaughey, Vince Young and Roger Clemens are among the celebrities playing for the University of Texas at Austin. Toby Keith leads the lineup for the University of Oklahoma. The fun game kicks off the Red River rivalry weekend. Proceeds benefit the Lone Survivor Foundation.

Why: Uptown Dallas, Inc. presents its 2nd Annual Uptown Block Party. The event will feature food, drinks and music by The Gibbonses followed by the headliner, Bob Schneider.

What: Mid-Cities Greek Fest
When: Fri. Oct. 13th – Sun. Oct. 15th @ 11:00AM
Where: St. John the Baptist Greek Orthodox Church

Why: Bring your appetite for the 26th edition of this celebration of Greek food and culture. Activities also include cooking demos, Greek dancing, live music and a children’s area with fun activities. Admission free.

Why: Artists’ booths will line downtown Arlington for a weekend of shopping, culture, music and food. Browse artists’ booths, enjoy live music, festival food, a craft beer garden and wine tastings. Admission free.

Where: St. Sarkis Armenian Church

Why: 3 days of traditional Armenian song and dance, fashion shows and food including grilled kebabs, pressed sandwiches, dolma and baklava. There will be indoor and outdoor children’s activities, a gift shop, photo booth, bake sale, coffee bar and auctions. Admission and parking are free.

What: Science on Tap: IckFest

Why: Free festival commemorates and reenacts the filming of the bank robbery scene in the 1967 Bonnie and Clyde movie starring Faye Dunaway and Warren Beatty. Old-timey, family fun includes 2 reenactments, Model A and Classic Car Show, the Chain Gang Walk, Peanut Thrashing demo, Soap Box Challenge, pie-eating contest, plus live music by Brave Combo and more entertainment throughout the day. Kids Zone included.
