North Texas Market Update- 9.4.17

Hurricane Harvey wreaked havoc on Texas the past week. With the hurricane, we saw a dip in traffic overall on homes until it started ticking back up late Monday. Having been in real estate during Katrina and Rita, we will likely see a dip in traffic while the weather distraction occurs and then it will actually supplement in fall with people deciding they don’t want to move back to Houston to risk their home flooding again. Homes that are “move in ready” or spec homes will be at a big advantage in the next two months. This may not add to pricing over the appreciation we have already seen, but it will slightly decrease days on market and add additional buyers to the pool.

We are continuing to support families and victims of Hurricane Harvey. If you know of anyone that is in need of assistance (relocation, moving, supplies etc), please let us know and we are happy to reach out to see if we can help.
