Why: The Gold Wing Road Riders Association’s (GWRRA) 39th annual Wing Ding gathering is expected to bring more than 8,000 riders of Honda Gold Wings – a.k.a. “Wingers” – and other touring motorcycles. An indoor trade show for touring motorcycle enthusiasts is open to the public. Wing Din Light Parade, Gold Wing People’s Choice Bike Show and Gold Wing Drill Team Performance.

Why: Erykah Badu leads a host of jazz, R&B, soul, blues and neo-soul artists scheduled to perform at the new Riverfront Jazz Festival over Labor Day weekend. Presented by The Black Academy of Arts and Letters, the music fest will present more than 30 top performers on 2 main stages, plus 40+ acts on the Promising Young Artists stage.

We feature for the first time in DFW, Christian Painter & Katalina Absolon, just off a USO tour bringing magic and mentalism to our audience. They play the Magic Castle in Hollywood and competed in the World Magic Olympics in Italy
What: Granbury Labor Day Lake Fest

Why: The festival will run with activities spread from the downtown Courthouse Square to the City Beach and nearby Hewlett Park. There will be Kids Games, Food, a Petting Zoo, and more. There will also be fantastic music entertainment on the city stage on the Square. The event will also feature a fishing tournament. Also on the city beach will be all the usual water activities like kayak’s and tubes etc., rent a bicycle, stand up waterboard. On Sunday night, there will be a lighted boat parade on Lake Granbury.
What: Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series

Why: The Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series returns to Possum Kingdom’s infamous Hell’s Gate Cliffs for gravity-defying action from the world’s most elite cliff divers. Sat. 9/2 – Men’s and women’s Rounds 1 & 2 (time to be determined) Sun. 9/3 – Men’s and women’s Round 3 & Finals starting at 2 p.m. Spectators should plan to arrive and view the competition by watercraft. There are several private boat rental services on the lake.

Why: The 6th annual Labor Day weekend Homebrew Festival celebrates homebrews and the teams that make them. Taste beer from many Dallas-Fort Worth homebrew teams who are competing for top honors at the Festival. The festival includes homebrew teams pouring their unique brews, live music, games, and food trucks. The festival is dog friendly. DEBC will match each one with a $15 donation to Greater Houston and South Texas relief funds.
What: Garland Labor Day Parade/Car Show/ Kids BBQ Competition

Why: The 72nd community parade features local bands, sports groups and floats winding through the streets of downtown Garland. The parade route starts at Glenbrook and 9th St., travels north on Glenbrook, east on Main, then north on 5th to the Granville Arts Center. Following the parade, gather at the Square for a classic car show. Food vendors will be on site. Add this to the fun: Kids ages 10-18 will compete in an Iron Chef-style Kids BBQ Competition (pre-registration required).
