What: Electric Football World Championships and Convention

Why: See Electric Football played like never before as kids and adults compete in 4 divisional tournaments and skills events. The three-day family friendly event also includes fun activities such as skills competitions in passing, kicking, fastest and strongest player, a paint and customizing competition, the MFCA Hall of Fame induction ceremony and more. Door prizes, including signed Electric Football boards, along with games and hobby supplies will be for sale. Presented by Tudor Games.

What: Nintendo Summer of Play

Why: The event will feature demo stations where you can play both recently-released and upcoming games for both the Nintendo Switch and the Nintendo 3DS.

What: Vans Warped Tour

Why: The Warped Tour is a traveling rock festival that has toured the United States annually each summer since 1995. It is the largest traveling music festival in the United States, and is the longest-running touring music festival in North America. Tour Celebrates Its History of Punk Rock, Metal, Hardcore and more!

What: Friday Night Drag Racing
When: Fri. July 28th @ 6:00PM – 11:00PM
Where: Texas Motor Speedway

Why: Texas Motor Speedway converts its pit road, which is typically used for NASCAR and INDYCAR events, into a 1/8-mile drag strip for the summer. Every Friday drivers compete for weekly and season-long championships in seven different divisions.  Car enthusiasts also display their prized vehicles.

What: Miller Lite Conciertos Originales: Banda Carnaval
When: Fri. July 28th @ 7:00PM
Where: American Airlines Center (Victory Plaza)

Why: Miller Lite’s free Latin music concert series presents Latin Grammy-nominated regional Mexican group Banda Carnaval (“¿Desde Cuándo No Me Quieres?” and “Ella Es Mi Mujer”). Entry is free of charge on a first come, first served basis up to venue capacity

What: CMT’s ‘Nashville’ in concert

Why: The stars of the TV series Nashville perform songs from the show as well as the artists’ original material. Scheduled to appear are cast members Clare Bowen (Scarlett), Chris Carmack (Will), Charles Esten (Deacon) and Jonathan Jackson (Avery).

What: Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed

Why: Venture back to a time when dinosaurs roamed the earth at Discover the Dinosaurs Unleashed. Experience up-close encounters with a lifelike Stegosaurus, Velociraptor and the king T-Rex in this thrilling walk-through exhibit. Kids can also meet a baby dinosaur, take a spin in the Jurassic Jeeps on the Dino Raceway and visit the Kids Adventure Zone filled with themed bounce houses, crafts and more.

What: Lowest G Cools  Down the Big D

Why: Enjoy sweet deals and a fun after party at this Lower Greenville block party that encourages donations of fans, portable A/C units or cash to help low-income disabled and senior citizens get through the hot Dallas summer. The event is presented by the Lower Greenville Collective in partnership with the City of Dallas.

What: Dallas Hip Hop Dance Fest
When: Sat. July 29th @ 6:30PM
Where: Majestic Theatre

Why: Hip hop dancers of all ages from all over Texas, and the United States, come together to show just what they are made of. The show presents stylistically innovative choreography along with creative pieces and exceptional performers. Some of the crews are competing for a Dallas Hip-Hop Dance Festival (DHDF) title including prize money. The show is the final event of our 2-day dance festival.

What: Bling Fling Pickle Prom

Why: The Mansfield Pickle Queens, who rule over Mansfield’s annual St. Paddy’s Pickle Parade and Palooza, host their first prom with food, drinks, DJ, photos, live and silent auctions, and Best Dancer and Best Dressed contests. Wear your prettiest prom dress or tux and join the Pickle Queens, the Pickle Dude, the Pickle Protectors and the rest of the Pickle Possee at this fun event that benefits several Mansfield-area charities.

Why: Sunday Funday is a laid-back, family-friendly event with tubes, tunes, water sports, food trucks, shaved ice and brews from Panther Island Brewing. Each Sunday features special events such as paddle board yoga, giant Jenga, slackline and cornhole. Outside food & drinks, coolers and motorized watercraft are not allowed.

What: Tailgate Competition

Why: Tailgaters will gather at Loyd Park to watch the Texas Rangers vs. Baltimore Orioles game happening at Globe Life Park in Arlington on TVs inside Loyd Park Lodge, but they’ll also be competing in three categories: Biggest Rangers Fans, Best Tailgate Food and Best Overall Tailgate. Prizes include a family pack of Rangers tickets and a free cabin stay at Loyd Park.

What: Beatles Tribute Benefiting NAMI
When: Sun. July 30th @ 6:00PM – 9:00PM
Where: Opening Bell Coffee

Why: Local musicians come together to share their love of Beatles music and to raise money for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Dallas chapter. Raffles during the event include some fun goodies like pickles, wine, and a Sgt. Pepper’s 50th anniversary edition record.
