What: Vitruvian Nights Live Concert Series

Why: Vitruvian Nights Live features live music, gourmet food trucks, drinks/spirits, mobile boutiques, and great giveaways from your favorite radio stations (106.1 Kiss FM, 102.1 The Edge or LoneStar 92.5) every other Thursday through August 11.

What: Dallas Summer Musicals presents Ragtime
When: Thursday, June 2nd – Sunday, June 5th @ 7:30PM and 1:30PM

Why: At the dawn of a new century, everything is changing…and anything is possible. Ragtime returns to the road in all-new touring production directed and choreographed by Marcia Milgrom Dodge and produced by the team that most recently brought you The Addams Family, SpamalotRock of Ages, and The Color Purple. The stories of an upper-class wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician unfold – set in turn-of-the-century New York – all three united by their desire and belief in a brighter tomorrow. Their compelling stories are set to theatre’s richest and most glorious Tony Award®-winning score by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Ahrens.

Why: Audacity Theatre Lab presents the 2016 Dallas Solo Fest. The event features eight one-person shows that include a mix of local solo performers and performers coming in from around the country. Produced by Brad McEntire, artistic director of Audacity Theatre Lab, the purpose of the Dallas Solo Fest is to celebrate extraordinary solo theatre as well as increase awareness and appreciation for the form in the North Texas area.

What: Keb’Mo in concert

Why: Three-time Grammy winner and visionary roots-music storyteller Keb’ Mo’ embarks on a new chapter in his career with the April 22 release o fBLUESAmericana on Kind of Blue Music. His twelfth full-length album marks the 20th anniversary of his debut ‘Keb’ Mo’,’ but, more important, the disc is a signpost of artistic and personal growth.

Why: A-Kon hosts anime fans and guests and offers other items of interest ranging from gaming to independent film, all in the quest to provide the best experience for the fans and bring the most engaging and educations entertainment to the anime community.

What: Red Bull Global Rallycross
When: Friday, June 3rd – Saturday, June 4th @ 12:00PM (Sat) and 8:00AM (Sat)
Where: Fair Park
     1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd., Dallas, TX 75210
Why: Created to produce the fastest and most exciting racing in motorsports, Red Bull Global Rallycross pits small production-based cars driven by star drivers against each other in door-to-door racing featuring dirt, asphalt, and tabletop jumps. With enhanced engineering and safety features, the cars produce 600 horsepower and can accelerate from 0-60 miles per hour in less than two seconds, and can also withstand 70-foot jumps and other vehicle contact. Kids 12 and under are free with a ticketed adult

What: Fan Expo Dallas
When: Friday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 5th @ 4:00PM (Fri) and 11:00AM (Sat & Sun)
Where: Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center Dallas

Why: Fan Expo Dallas is a fun, nerdy event filled with panels, shopping and fun things to do and some huge names: Comic book legend Stan Lee, current Doctor Who star Peter Capaldi, Star Trek’s William Shatner and George Takei, Star Wars’ Anthony Daniels, Pete Mayhew and Jeremy Bulloch, John and Joan Cusack, Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes and many many more. There will be a special William Shatner Event Thursday 6/2 @ 7PM.

What: Taste of Dallas
When: Friday, June 3rd – Sunday, June 5th @ 5:00PM (Fri) and 11:00AM (Sat & Sun)
Where: Fair Park
     1300 Robert B. Cullum Blvd., Dallas, TX 75210
Why: The Dallas food festival turns 30 this year and there is plenty to celebrate at this year’s event. Tour 45 food booths set up along the Esplanade offering international tastes. Etsy Dallas presents the Etsy Dallas Artisan Market with more than 50 artisans displaying their hand-crafted goods. The Gallery showcases modern and contemporary art and artisan pieces in various media. Kids can have a blast in the free, indoor kids zone and enjoy jugglers, magicians, luchadores and other kid-friendly performances on the Kids Stage. Live music will be playing all weekend on multiple stages.

What: MetroBall
When: Friday, June 3rd @ 7:00PM
Where: Station 4
     3911 Cedar Springs Rd., Dallas, TX 75219
Why: Former teen idols Debbie Gibson and Tiffany will perform at the 2016 MetroBall. The annual event is a great party for a great cause with music, surprise guests, a DJ dance party, and a silent auction. The MetroBall is the primary fundraising source for the Greg Dollgener Memorial AIDS Fund (GDMAF), a North Texas-based 501c3 organization marking its 20th anniversary. Founded in 1996, GDAF’s mission is to provide emergency financial assistance to people living with HIV/AIDS and to those who are unable to receive social services assistance.

What: Prashe Fashion Show

Why: Award-winning couture designer Prashi Shah will present her 2016 Ready To Wear and Couture Collection Runway Show. Shah will showcase her contemporary and Eastern-eclectic custom designs with signature hand embroidery, vibrant patterns, luxurious linens and fine silks.

What: KXT Summer Cut Festival
When: Friday, June 3rd @ 7:00PM
Where: South Side Ballroom

Why: It’s been barely six months since indie folk-pop group Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros played North Texas, but it seems they couldn’t stay away. The band returns June 3 to South Side Ballroom to headline KXT’s Summer Cut festival, alongside a mix of nationally and locally acclaimed acts such as gospel notables The Relatives, indie pop group San Fermin and the dancey Ronnie Heart

What: R. Kelly: The Buffet Tour

Why: R. Kelly will come back to Dallas in support of his 13th studio album, The Buffet.

What: Concerts in the Garden: Preservation Hall Jazz Band

Where: Fort Worth Botanic Garden

Why: Fort Worth’s favorite summer concert series kicks off the 2016 season with New Orleans’ legendary Preservation Hall Jazz Band. Fireworks display follows the show. Pack a picnic or purchase concessions, beer and soft drinks on site.

Movies in the Park: Beethoven

Why: The free outdoor movie series returns to The Shops at Park Lane with blockbuster films every Friday night in June. Grab a spot on the lawn or relax and dine on one of the numerous patios overlooking the big screen. During this week’s movie Beethoven, foster-based rescue group DFW Rescue Me will be onsite with their popular dog-kissing booth. For a donation, cuddle with an adoptable dog and pose for a personal photo.

What: The Laugh Supper presents Wet Hot American Supper
When: Friday June 3rd and Saturday, June 4th @ 11:15PM
Where: Pocket Sandwich Theatre

Why: The Laugh Supper will bring its popular short-form, game-based improvisational comedy back to the Pocket with a new show, Wet Hot American Supper. Through a series of lively, improvised scenes, the troupe will lead the audience through a set heavy on energy, laughter, audience suggestions, and participation. Wet Hot American Supper is a refreshing, sun-soaked improv comedy show inspired by everything we love and hate about Dallas in the throes of Summer. Suggestions, prompts and scenes will incorporate this theme into the evening’s proceedings.

Why: Gather your furry friends and come out to Operation Kindness’ Dog Day Afternoon – the largest festival in Dallas celebrating dogs and the people who love them. Dozens of vendors, puppy kissing booth, canine contests, doggie splash pool and the World largest dog cake. This year Operation Kindness will celebrate their 40th anniversary at the annual free event.

What: Bulladora Music Experience
When: Saturday, June 4th & Sunday, June 5th @ 12:30PM
Where: Reverchon Park

Why: Bulladora Music Experience debuts June 4-5 at Reverchon Park with headliners Yeasayer and AlunaGeorge. The indie-pop lineup also includes Washed Out, Cheat Codes, MOTHXR, JR JR, Shamir, POWERS, XYLØ, Great Good Fine Ok, Paperwhite and Lostboycrow.

What: Kenny Chesney: Spread the Love Tour

Why: Country superstar Kenny Chesney will come back to AT&T Stadium, with support from Miranda Lambert, Jake Owen, and Old Dominion.
