What: Wild West Watauga Fest
When: Thursday, May 19th – Sunday, May 22nd @ 6PM(Th/Fri), 10AM(Sat), 12PM(Sun)

Why: Watauga’s annual fest features live music, carnival rides, vendors, beer and food trucks, and performances by local arts groups. Headlining the musical entertainment are Poo Live Crew (Fri. at 8 p.m.), Me and My Monkey (Sat. 5:30 p.m.) and Le Freak (Sat. 8:30 p.m.). Free admission and parking. No coolers.

What: Hyena’s Fort Worth presents Arden Myrin
When: Thursday, May 19th – Saturday, May 21st @ 8:30PM and 10:30PM (Fri/Sat)
Where: Hyena’s Comedy Night Club

Why: Arden Myrin is an actress, writer and comedian. A popular roundtable panelist on Chelsea Lately, Arden appeared on the show over 115 times, proving that all those years she spent reading Us Weekly for “research” were worth it. Arden was also a cast member on MADtv for four years, where she wrote many of her sketches. Arden has appeared on Orange Is the New Black, Key and Peele, Inside Amy Schumer, Suburgatory, Hung, Legit, Reno 911, Quickdraw, Late Night with Conan O’Brien, Psych, The Howard Stern Show, RuPaul’s Drag Race, Party Down, Hot in Cleveland, Legit, Soul Man and Quick Draw, among others.

Why: Texas and regional craft beers are the focus of this festival that’s subtitled “A Craft Brew Experience.” Learn how to taste beers or put your existing skills to use at a separately ticketed craft brew tasting, which will offer more than 80 craft brews to sample; beer dinners; keg tappings and more. There’ll also be live music, a midway and carnival area (a $25 pass offers unlimited access to rides) and — of course — wine, for which Grapevine is known.

What: Elm Street Music & Tattoo Festival
When: Friday, May 20th & Saturday, May 21st @ 12:00PM
Where: The Bomb Factory
     2713 Canton St., Dallas, TX 75226
Why: The annual festival in Deep Ellum will feature a two-day tattoo convention featuring more than 50 tattoo artists and two nights of concerts at the Bomb Factory. Scheduled performers include The Bouncing Souls, Frank Turner, Reverend Horton Heat, Dead Flowers and more.

What: Toyota Texas Fest
When: Friday, May 20th – Sunday, May 22nd @ 2:00PM and 12:00PM (Sat and Sun)

Why: The Lone Star Food Fest, gives guest a taste of the best food, drinks and restaurants that Texas has to offer. This fest brings together country This fest brings together country music (Big & Rich with Cowboy Troy, Lee Brice, Chase Bryant and others), the Lone Star Food Fest hosted by Dean Fearing, an outdoor consumer expo, a kids zone and the 10th anniversary celebration of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. Activities, the food fest and concerts are at Toyota Stadium; the championship fishing will take place on Lake Ray Roberts near Denton.

What: ’til Midnight at the Nasher
When: Friday, May 20th @ 6:00PM -MIDNIGHT
Where: Nasher Sculpture Center

Why: The popular evening program at The Nasher returns every third Friday, May through October 2016, with complimentary admission. 6-7 p.m. – Singer-Songwriter Spotlight, 7-9 p.m. – Live concert by Pleasant Grove, 9 p.m. – Outdoor film screening of Coraline. Guests can also have fun engaging in social media scavenger hunts, progressive tours and viewing the permanent collection and special exhibitions. Nasher Cafe by Wolfgang Puck offers special reserve-ahead picnic dining for two and grab & go food items and street tacos the night of the event. Steel City Pops also returns to offer all-natural popsicles in seasonal flavors. Bar service is offered in the Garden.

What: Wildflower! Art & Music Festival

Why: This eclectic celebration features headliners such as the Toadies, Jimmie Vaughan and Black Joe Lewis. It also features activities in the Kidz Korner and vendors in the Wild! Marketplace. Plus, youngsters love to play in the fountain on the fest grounds.

What: Journey & The Doobie Brothers

What: Warbirds Over Addison

Where: Cavanaugh Flight Museum

Why: Cavanaugh Flight Museum, the largest collection of flying historic and military aircraft in the Southwest, hosts its biggest weekend of the year, Warbirds Over Addison. North Texas aviation buffs will have the chance to see, touch and even fly in many of the planes in the unparalleled Cavanaugh collection. The Cavanaugh Flight Museum will fly many of its treasured WWII, Korean War and Vietnam-era airplanes including: the P­‐51 Mustang, AD-­5 Skyraider, FM2 Wildcat, T-­28B Trojan, P-40 Warhawk, and many more. What: The Shatterproof Challenge Rappel
When: Saturday, May 21st – Sunday, May 22nd @ 12:00PM
Where: Reunion Tower

Why: Shatterproof, a nonprofit focused on ending addiction, will be hosting its first ever public rappel. The 50-story rappel off Reunion Tower is very limited, so interested individuals should sign up soon to reserve a spot for this once in a lifetime opportunity. Individuals will also rappel 10-stories from the Hyatt Regency Dallas. About 100 people are expected to rappel, with hundreds of supporters joining them at the site to change the conversation about addiction. The goal of the event is to raise funds to enable Shatterproof to develop and support effective, evidence-based addiction prevention, treatment and recovery programs.

What: North Texas Firkin Fest

What: yCPD Field Day: Big Kids for Little Kids

Why: Join the “big kids” of yCPD, Community Partners of Dallas’ young friends group, for the second annual yCPD Field Day. Chaired by Sarah Charbonnet, the day will include traditional field day activities for teams of six, such as tug of war, water balloon toss, three-legged races and more, as well as bites, drinks, live music and entertainment. This is a 21 and up event. Event proceeds will benefit the abused and neglected children of Dallas County served by CPD.

What: Making A Murderer’s Dean Strang & Jerry Buting: A Conversation on Justice

Why: Dean Strang and Jerry Buting, defense attorneys for Steven Avery in the Netflix documentary series Making A Murderer, announce their multi-city speaking tour for A Conversation on Justice Tour. This will involve the two attorneys in conversation about the Steven Avery case and its broader implications, as well as a discussion on the larger topic of the American criminal justice system. Each night will also feature a Q&A portion and the opportunity for the audience to address questions directly to Dean Strang and Jerry Buting.
