What: TEDxSMU Women

Why: TEDWomen is a TED event that focuses on women and women’s issues. TED will expand upon the ideas brought up at TEDWomen, while also relating it back to the women of Dallas.

What: The Real Estate Council presents TREC Shark Tank
When: Thurs. Nov. 2nd @ 6:00PM
Where: Gilley’s  Dallas

Why: TREC Shark Tank(modeled after the show) is an event to highlight investment and economic development opportunities in Southern Dallas. Three teams will pitch projects to redevelop city. Host: Demond Fernandez of WFAA, Special Guests: Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban.

What: Jazz on the Green
When: Thurs. Nov. 2nd & Nov. 9th @ 7:00PM –  9:00PM
Where: Klyde Warren Park

Why: Join us for Jazz on the Green, a free concert series featuring the University of North Texas music program: One O’Clock Jazz Band, UNT Vocal Jazz Groups and UNT Latin Jazz Club.

What: Bill Engvall

Where: Winspear Opera House

Why: The “Blue Collar” and “Here’s Your Sign” comedian graduated from Richardson High School and started his standup career in Dallas clubs.

What: State of Texas Arbor Day Celebration

Where: Downtown Grand Prairie

Why: Grand Prairie will host the official Texas State Arbor Day Celebration. Guests can pick up free TX Red Oak seedlings (w/ instructions) & browse educational (& kid-friendly) booths that cover outdoor-related topics.

What: 4th Annual TX Beer Week Brewer’s Ball
When: Fri. Nov. 3rd @ 7:00PM – 10:00PM
Where: Union Station

Why: Celebrate NTX Beer Week at the 4th annual Brewer’s Ball. Sample great brews and enjoy bites from some of the area’s best beer-centric restaurants. Get fancy and rub elbows with other beer enthusiasts.

What: Day of the Dead Ball

Why: Come dressed in black to celebrate loved ones who have gone before us. Artists on site to help with makeup. Ballroom is adults-only but there will be child care with themed crafts, snacks and games for the kids.

Why: Ringo Starr and his All Star Band: Multi- Instrumentalist- Todd Rundgren, guitarist Steve Lukather, singer Richard Page, singer/keyboardist Gregg Rollie, Saxophonist Warren Ham and drummer Gregg Bissonette.

What: Dallas Bike Ride

What: University Crossing presents Mockingbird Bridge and Trail Community Event
When: Sat. Nov. 4th @ 9:00AM (Glencoe) and 10AM (Mockingbird Station)

Why: University Crossing will celebrate the opening of the Mockingbird Bridge and Trail with a special community event at Glencoe Park and Mockingbird Station. The event will include food and fun.

Why: The Festival will have a full day of fun with live entertainment (The Toadies & Everclear), free rides & games, and free activities for all ages including bungee trampolines, a zip line, face painting, and more.
