What: Ink Masters Tattoo Expo

Why: Ink Masters Tattoo Show will be bringing only the most talented tattoo artists and piercers from around the world. Make sure you join us for this jam packed weekend of art, tattoos, food, and family fun. This weekend will be nothing but jam packed fun including 6 free tattoo giveaways (2 per day). Tattoo award shows. Bring the whole family out. We will have a kids zone with bounce houses, face painting and much more.

Why: If you’re looking for a savvy social hour, make date night Friday, July 21, at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History. Join us for Science on Tap and rediscover the Museum. Enjoy a cash bar and small plates alongside a very large Paluxysaurus jonesi. Explore exhibits and galleries like never before with activities geared toward 21+.

What: Friday Night Drag Racing
When: Fri. July 21st & Fri. July 28th @ 6:00PM – 11:00PM
Where: Texas Motor Speedway

Why: Texas Motor Speedway converts its pit road, which is typically used for NASCAR and INDYCAR events, into a 1/8-mile drag strip for the summer. Every Friday drivers from across North Texas will compete for weekly and season-long championships in seven different divisions. Joining the thrill of high-speed drag racing is the return of the popular Hills Air Support Show-N-Shine. Car enthusiasts display their prized vehicles for the opportunity to be recognized as the best in one of four categories: Best of Show, Best Classic – 1972 or earlier, Best Current Custom – 1973 to current and Best Motorcycle.

What: Cardboard Boat Race
When: Fri. July 21st @ 6:30PM – 8:00PM
Where: Samuell-Grand Swimming Pool

Why: The annual race challenges kids and families to construct a cardboard watercraft that they will sail across Samuell Grand Pool. Teams will consist of a captain, a first mate and up to a four-person support team. Judging will be based on design/creativity, team spirit and speed. Registration is $15 per boat, online or at pool

What: Splash Dash 5K
When: Sat. July 22nd @ 8:00AM – 11:00AM
Where: Bahama Beach Waterpark

Why: The Splash Dash Race offers both a 1K and 5K race, as well as a free water park pass with every race entry purchase. Besides water zones located periodically throughout the course, water gun gangs will drench you and help you cool off from the Texas heat. Splash Dash is also looking for volunteers to help soak people. No matter what, no one is leaving the water park dry. Athletic water shoes are recommended.

What: National Day of the American Cowboy
When: Sat. July 22nd @ 10:00AM

Why: The National Day of the American Cowboy event celebrates the history and heritage of the American Cowboy with family-friendly activities taking place all day including CowCamp, gunfight shows, rodeos, horseback riding, museum tours, Cattlepen Maze, walking tours and more. A parade helps kick off the festival after the 11:30 a.m. cattle drive.

What: Shark Day at the Children’s Aquarium
When: Sat. July 22nd @ 11:00AM – 3:00PM
Where: The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park

Why: The Children’s Aquarium at Fair Park is celebrating sharks and rays with special programming, including:
11 a.m.: Shark tank feeding and aquarist chat (inside tank), 11:30 a.m.: Aquarist chat (stingray touch tank), Noon – 1 p.m.: KLTY radio activation with prizes, 2:30 p.m.: Shark tank feeding and aquarist chat (outside tank) All-day activities: -Coloring sheet/shark craft -Shark conservation pledge station -Stingray feeding (while supplies last) -Hands-on shark biofacts -Photo ops -Sharks and rays scavenger hunt

What: World’s Largest Super Soaker Battle
When: Sat. July 22nd @ 2:00PM – 6:00PM
Where: Maverick Stadium

Why: Law of Attraction Brothers will present their 2nd Annual Super Soaker Battle. The current record held in the Guinness book of world records for “Largest water pistol fight” is 3,875 participants. The goal for this event is to get over 4,000 participants; anticipated participation could be over double that number. This will be a family friendly event in which people can come out and gather together as a community to break a world record and help a good cause; a portion of the proceeds will be donated to Hope for the Warriors. There will be food, fun, games, giveaways and much more.

What: Mavs Spiked!
When: Sat. July 22nd @ 5:30PM
Where: The Sports Garden

Why: Mavs Spiked – a totally rad, glow-in-the-dark sand volleyball tournament and party for fans of the Dallas Mavericks – returns for year 3. Don’t play volleyball? No sweat! There will be plenty of fun in the sun for a $10 Early Bird Party Pass, which includes a $10 voucher towards a Mavs game ticket, Mavs swag, glow sticks, yard games, and entertainment by DJ Poizon Ivy and DJ Joe Ramirez starting at 6 p.m. Party Passes will be available at the door for $15. 21+ only. Prizes up for grabs include an 18-person suite to a Mavs game, Mavs merchandise, a fancy trophy to show-off to friends

What: Mesquite Championship Rodeo
When: Sat. July 22nd – Sat. Oct. 7th @ 7:30PM (Saturdays Only)
Where: Mesquite Arena

Why: Attendees are invited down to the dirt on the rodeo arena before the show to meet the cowboys and cowgirls, enjoy free pony rides, bounce houses, stick horse barrel racing and roping demos. Kids can show off their rodeo skills with mutton bustin’. Participants must be over the age of four and under 55 pounds to be eligible. Live music from Texas country artists and dancing are in the 8 Second Club, and there’s plenty of shopping and dining for the whole family. Rodeo is the original extreme sport, with cowboys and cowgirls battling it out for thousands of dollars in prize money each week. The traditional rodeo events include the best of championship rodeo: bull riding, saddle bronc and bareback riding, cowgirl barrel racing, tie-down roping, steer wrestling and team roping. In addition to all the excitement of the rodeo competition, there is patriotic pageantry, comedy and kid-friendly activities, such as mutton bustin’ and calf scrambles.

Where: Panther Island Pavilion

Why: Sunday Funday is a laid-back, family-friendly event with tubes, tunes, water sports, food trucks, shaved ice and brews from Panther Island Brewing. Each Sunday features special events such as paddle board yoga, giant Jenga, slackline and cornhole. Outside food & drinks, coolers and motorized watercraft are not allowed.

What: Summer Sundaze: Decks in the Park
When: Sun. July 9th – Sun. Sept. 3rd @ 12:00PM – 6:00PM (Sundays Only)
Where: W Dallas Victory Hotel

Why: Amp up your Sundays at the W’s Wet Deck with curated summer cocktails, light bites, a DJ and panoramic city views and photo ops 16 stories above the Dallas skyline. On July 23, Sundaze teams with Decks in the Park to present an amazing DJ linup featuring some of your favorite local talent.  We are also teaming up with Tequila Avion to celebrate National Tequila Day one day early. Enjoy hand crafted tequila infused cocktails by Avion Tequila & a bistro menu for your enjoyment all day long. Dress code calls for upscale beachwear.

What: Earth, Wind & Fire and Chic featuring Nile Rodgers

Why: The 2054 Tour features the popular ’70s bands, a guest DJ and a specialized seating configuration toward the front of the stage to encourage audiences to dance the night away.
