What: 2017 Broadway Series: Something Rotten!

Why: Set in 1595, Something Rotten! is an hilarious smash that tells the story of Nick and Nigel Bottom, two brothers who are desperate to write a hit play. When a local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick and Nigel set out to write the world’s very first musical.

What: Concerts in the Garden: The Music of David Bowie

Why: In a long-awaited tribute to the Star Man himself, the Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra will dazzle with The Music of David Bowie, honoring the legend with a show of his own music and backed by a full rock band. Why: Celebrate Freedom is the largest single day concert event featuring today’s top Christian music artists, including Crowder, Britt Nicole, Matthew West, Danny Gokey, Josh Wilson, Zach Williams and Hollyn.

What: Market Street Allen USA Celebration
When: Sat. June 24th @ 4:00PM – 10:30PM

Why: Allen’s annual pre-Fourth festival is a fun day of live entertainment on two stages, a Kids Zone, GuideLive Food Zone, Jurassic Zone with animatronic dinos, military vehicle display, Sports Zone, Tough as a Cowboy Combine Challenge, The Tailgate with DJ and lawn games, VIP Party Zone, KidMania Spray Zone, and a dazzling Fireworks Finale. Main stage music starts at 4:30 p.m. with Jon Christopher Davis, Le Freak (6:30 p.m.), military presentation and National Anthem (8:15 p.m.), Emerald City Band (8:30 p.m.). Fireworks are from 10:05-10:30 p.m. Admission is free but some activities require a ticket purchase.

What: QueerBomb Dallas 2017

Why: QueerBomb Dallas, an alternative Pride group, celebrates Pride Weekend and commemorates the Stonewall riots with a day of festivities that includes a pride rally, a march through Deep Ellum, speakers, music, a dance party and a drag show. This year’s event is dedicated to queer and trans youth.

Why: Taste freshly made ice creams created by home cooks competing for the People’s Choice Award at Chestnut Square Historic Village’s annual festival. Despite the quaint setting, this competition is anything but vanilla. Previous winners include habañero mango and bacon and waffle.

What: 5th Anniversary Fiesta Party

Why: Join Urban Rio to celebrate the fifth anniversary with a grand fiesta. What: The World’s Largest Karaoke Fest & Competition- Qualifier Event
When: Sun. June 25th @ 5:00PM – 8:00PM

Why: The world’s largest honky tonk is hosting a Karaoke Contest with a winner-take-all grand prize of $10,000 for the top singer. The competition is open to residents of Texas over the age of 18, who will be judged on their singing ability, stage presence and audience reaction. Cheer on the singers at the qualifying event June 25. The top 20 singers will advance to the finals on Aug. 13. Traditional karaoke will be available for the general public each night. Cover for the general public is $10 each night.

Why: Ever wondered what the Beatles would sound like with a symphony orchestra? Wonder no more—Classical Mystery Tour and the FWSO present 30 iconic Beatles tunes with four Beatles look- and sound-alikes. This year marks the 50th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band, and to celebrate, CMT will perform the full album for your entertainment. With more than a dozen performances at CITG, it’s no wonder the “Fab Four” keep coming back.
