Why: The DFW Boat Expo, the largest boating event in North Texas, has over 650 all new 2017 boat and watercraft models on display and available for purchase from 20 North Texas boat dealers. Nearly 150 different vendors have booths. The DFW Boat Expo is presented by the United Boat Dealers of North Texas.

Why: Carlos Mencia began his career doing stand-up on amateur night at the world-renowned comedy club, Laugh Factory. He later showcased at The Comedy Store and became a regular, performing nightly. After he found success on the L.A comedy circuit, Mencia was named “International Comedy Grand Champion” from Buscando Estrellas (the Latino version of Star Search). This led to appearances on In Living Color, The Arsenio Hall Show, Moesha, and An Evening at the Improv.

Why: Ewan McGregor and his former school friends drift in and out of heroin addiction and surreal urban hallucinations in this hyperactive mix of rebellious action and wicked humor. Also starring Robert Carlyle, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner, Kevin McKidd, Kelly MacDonald and Shirley Henderson. Based on Scottish author Irvine Welsh’s acclaimed novel. Directed by Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later).

Why: Approximately 12 feet tall and about 12 feet wide, Monster Jam trucks are custom-designed machines that sit atop 66-inch-tall tires and weigh a minimum of 10,000 pounds. Built for short, high-powered bursts of speed, Monster Jam trucks generate 1,500 to 2,000 horsepower and are capable of speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Monster Jam trucks can fly up to125 to 130 feet in distance and up to 35 feet in the air.

Why: Come watch the feline fur flying all day at Single Wide. It’s the Kitten Bowl, people. We’ll have Texas Pawprints Cat & Kitten Rescue hanging out 1-8 p.m. with feline friends who are looking for forever homes.

What: Ivy Tavern presents Patio Pig Roast for Super Bowl

Why: Ivy Tavern is holding a day of festivities for the Super Bowl, capped off by a patio pig roast in addition to the regular menu. Revolver Brewing is hosting a tap takeover and will be handing out free samples of their delicious beers, including Blood and Honey, Revolver Bock and Death Ray. The Ivy Tavern’s happy hour pricing will also be in effect. The six big TVs inside and three large outdoor screens will be showing the game, so wherever you’re sitting, you’ll have a great view of the action. Then at halftime, the pig comes out. After cooking all day it will be roasted and ready for you to partake. It’s first come, first served, with $10 getting you a plate loaded with pork, citrus slaw and potato salad.

Why: This dining and entertainment venue is a great spot to watch Super Bowl 51 with 34 big screen TVs and 51 cent wings. Texas craft brewers will be on hand with super giveaways, special tastings and contests.

What: Free Super Bowl Li Watching Party

Where: Bomb Factory

Why: The Bomb Factory will host a free watch party for Super Bowl LI, taking place at NRG Stadium in Houston. The Super Bowl LI halftime show will be headlined by Lady Gaga. The event will feature food from Wiles BBQ and drink specials, plus prize giveaways each quarter and all of the action shown on the 30 foot HD big screen. The official Watch Party of The Ticket will be hosted by Donovan Lewis.
