Why:  The Lights at Interlochen are “Texas Best” Christmas Lights (as voted by the viewers of the Texas Country Reporter TV Show) are always free to see. Starting drive-through entrance point is at the intersection of Randol Mill Rd and Westwood Dr.

Why:  Holiday in the Park celebrates the most wonderful time of the year at Six Flags Over Texas. From more than a million twinkling lights, holiday shows, toasty campfires, delicious hot cocoa and your favorite rides to the nearly 60 foot Holiday Tree of Trees, Santa Land and Santa Claus. Special moments and fun await you at North Texas’ largest holiday festival where there is something magical for everyone

What: CLEBURNE: Whistle Stop Christmas & Parade

Why: Come enjoy the 20th annual Whistle Stop Christmas in Cleburne with 3.5 million Christmas lights decorating the park every evening during the holidays. Friday 12/2: Lighted Christmas Parade begins at 6:30PM followed by the lighting ceremony and a visit by Santa & Mrs. Claus. Adding to the fun will be food vendors, Children train rides & Horse Drawn Wagon Rides ~ see schedule of events for times.

Why:  Be prepared to witness a friendly holiday “competition” at its finest. This iconic Dallas neighborhood brings thousands of visitors each year to witness the over-the-top, life-like, and sometimes technologically advanced displays from some of Dallas’s largest homes. If you make an appointment quickly, you can grab a coffee in Highland Park Village and jump on board one of the Highland Park Carriage Rides for a unique light tour, but time slots go fast!

What: DALLAS: Fair Park Holiday Delights Festival
When: Tuesday, Dec. 6th @ 6:00PM – 8:00PM
Where: Fair Park- Big Tex Circle

Why:  Celebrate the holidays with this free Fair Park event presented by the Dallas Park and Recreation Department. Enjoy crafts, musical and dance performances, live reindeer, concessions for purchase, and Santa!

What: DALLAS: Kessler Park Annual Holiday Tree Lighting
When: Saturday, Dec. 5th @ 5:30PM

Why:  This historic neighborhood sits just south of downtown and overlooks the skyline with treelined streets and charming turn of the century homes that will be decorated with thousands of festive Christmas lights. Tis the season for our annual tree lighting featuring jolly ole Saint Nick. Hot chocolate and cider will be served, and neighbors are asked to bring holiday treats to share. This festive evening lights up in the company of Kessler residents, families and friends.

What: DALLAS: Christmas at the Anatole
When: Thursday, Dec. 1st – Wednesday, Dec. 31st @ 4:00PM (and 10AM Sat & Sun)

Why:  Christmas at the Anatole is an interactive experience sure to bring holiday spirit to the young and young at heart. Join us for festive favorites including breakfast with Santa, gingerbread cookie decorating, a winter wonderland. Inside the winter wonderland you will come across Geppetto’s Marionette Theater’s holiday show, featuring a cast of over 60 hand-carved marionettes. Children will delight as they meet the Winter Wizard, the North Pole dancing elves, the magic toys of Santa’s workshop and a whole host of other holiday favorites, including Rudolph and Frosty.

What: FARMERS BRANCH: Tour of Lights
When: Thursday, Dec. 1st – Wednesday, Dec. 30th @ 6:30PM – 9:30PM

Why:  The 2016 edition of this animated light show will return bigger than ever! The Tour of Lights drive through, with over half a million flashing lights, is one of North Texas’ longest animated shows. There will be festive holiday music and the grand finale show that will include Santa Claus himself! The Tour begins at Valley View Lane and Interstate 35, continues south on Denton Drive, and through the Farmers Branch Historical Park. Admission is free, donations accepted. Tune into 107.3 FM during the drive!

What: FORT WORTH: Christmas Candlelight Home Tour

Why:  The theme of the 33rd Annual Candlelight Christmas in Ryan Place home tour is “The Legacy of Family,” honoring the traditions of our Ryan Place neighborhood and the families that live here. We have handpicked six beautiful homes for the tour that blend new and old in structure, form, and family. Each home will showcase a different aspect of architecture and unique take on tradition in the Historic Ryan Place Neighborhood.

Why:  Texas Motor Speedway will once again host Gift of Lights, where can drive the entire family through a brand-new array of twinkling lights to jump-start the holiday spirit. This drive-thru includes more than 1.5 miles of light displays, with almost three million lights! Then, after you finish with the drive, make sure to stop at Santa’s Village inside the track! See Santa, ride the train, and enjoy the fun! This event benefits Toys for Tots, Christmas Wish, Ronald McDonald House Fort Worth, and the Scottish Rite Hospital.

What: FRISCO: Christmas in the Square

Why:  Christmas in the Square is a computerized light show featuring more than 175,000 lights choreographed to holiday music. Lights! Music! Snow! The Holiday lights and music (tune in to radio station 107.3 while you’re in Frisco Square), is choreographed by Frisco’s own Jeff Trykoski (Illumimax LLC). The same snow machines used by Disney create a Winter Wonderland on the sidewalks of Frisco Square. Experience ‘snow flurries’ every 15 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays throughout season. What: GRAND PRAIRIE: Prairie Lights

Why:  Upon arriving at the entrance to Prairie Lights, you will be dazzled with 4 million lights set along 2 miles of path. Hundreds of ALL-NEW displays in shapes of all kinds line and arch over the roads. Half way through the drive get out of your car for a stop at Holiday Village where you will find food, gifts, Santa, the all-new indoor laser show, and the Holiday Magic Lighted Walk-Through Forest.

What: GRAPEVINE: Magic of Christmas Light Show and Parade
When: Thursday, Dec. 1st – Sunday, Jan. 8th @ 6:00PM -11:00PM

Why:  It will be a memorable winter wonderland this Christmas in Historic Grapevine, Texas. Sparkle and shine at the Magic of Christmas Light Show. Located at the corner of Main Street and Dallas Road, this beloved light show is approximately 20 minutes in length and runs continuously from 6 p.m. – 11 p.m. nightly. Parade 12/1 @ 7PM. Bring the entire family to the Parade of Lights, the largest lighted Christmas parade in North Texas. This Grapevine tradition features more than 100 lighted floats and marching bands.

Why:  Holidays at the Heard, the most unique holiday event in North Texas. A Southwestern tradition, Holidays at the Heard brings the beauty of the holiday season into nature. Visitors can experience American Indian Music and dance performances including hoop and fancy dancing.

Legacy Dr. and Colonnade and Archgate (between Preston  & Coit Rd.), Plano, TX
Why:  A well known neighborhood in the area, and widely appreciated for their spectacular holiday light displays. Click here for directions and more info. There is a preview on their website to help you decide if it’s worth the drive, but stop by 4665 Quincy Drive and you’re guaranteed to enjoy a show! Carriage Rides are also available if you don’t mind the price.
