Why: Join RAW Natural Born Artists to celebrate local Dallas artists featuring more than 50 local Dallas artists, including live music, visual arts gallery, performing arts, hair & make-up, live pedestal models, and runway fashion presentation. RAW Natural Born Artists is an independent arts organization that hand-selects and spotlights independent creatives in visual art, film, fashion, music, hair & makeup artistry, photography, and performing arts.

What: The Grove presents Art & Music Series

Why: The Grove presents Art & Music Series, featuring talents of local and regional artist and musicians. This is a monthly event held every last Thursday of each month. For the month of July, they will be featuring art pieces by Abraham Bencid, Aliester Moffitt, Ben Britt, Dick Nosbisch, Eric Hanson, Will Seybold Jr., and Matt Anzak, and a live music performance from The True Adkins Band.

Why: The red carpet rolls out as burlesque stars, prestigious producers, and fabulous fans join together to celebrate queer burlesque heritage with this inaugural event. Queerlesque is the space where burlesque and cabaret-style performing arts meet the wild, vibrant, culturally rich Queer community. The festival’s aim is to “unify, celebrate, and elevate,” in order to represent a community that is both diverse and proud. The four-day festival will showcase Texas’ premiere performers in two mainstage shows, with guest performers from across the country. Performance styles featured in the festival include burlesque and drag stars, aerialists, performance troupes, and fusion bellydancing. The festival also features eight workshops, five parties, four networking events, and a large vending area.

What: Little D Markets presents Commerce Street Night Market

Why: Little D Markets is partnering with Alta West Commerce to launch Dallas’ first monthly night market at their pavilion. Commerce Street Night Market will feature a curated vendor marketplace, live music, workshops, and art installations on the last Friday of each month. Participants will also be invited to host pop-up classes and workshops during the market

What: Blink 182 in concert

Why: Blink-182 comes back to Dallas in support of their album, California. The will be joined by A Day To Remember and All-American Rejects.

What: Denton Comedy Festival

Why: The first Denton Comedy Festival features a who’s who of local comics – Paul Varghese, Bob Biggerstaff, Dan Danzy, Clint Werth and more – plus nationally known comedian and podcaster Shane Mauss.

What: Mo’Nique
When: Friday, July 29th & Saturday, July 30th @ 8PM & 10:30PM (Fri) and 7PM & 9:30PM (Sat)

Why: Mo’Nique was also the first female to host NBC”s nationally televised program, “Showtime at the Apollo” in 2002. She carried the legendary torch for three consecutive seasons. Other memorable television moments include appearances on “Ugly Betty,” “The Game,” “Nip/Tuck,” “The View,” and the BET Awards.

Why: Flea Style Summit is a one-day event that aims to inspire creative thinkers and tastemakers with panels, small group discussions, art workshops, interactive activities, meals and more. What:Dallas County Community Block Party and Record Breaking Soul Train Line

Why: The citizens of Dallas County will celebrate their community with family fun as they try to break the Guinness Book of World RecordsSoul Train Line with over 500 participants. This fun filled event will feature family entertainment for all ages, access to Dallas County Services and sponsored giveaways provided by Southwest Center Mall stores and area partners. The event is free and open to the public highlighting positive social influencers and community leaders.

Why: Basketball fans, get ready to check out elite talent in Dallas courtesy of the Mountain Dew® and the NBA. In their first-ever U.S. 3×3 basketball competition tour, the NBA and Mountain Dew are bringing over 30 pre-selected men’s and women’s teams to participate in a 3×3 tournament. Each two-day event will begin with pool play, followed by a single-elimination playoff bracket, resulting in city champions. The winning teams in each city will qualify for the championship event in Los Angeles.

What: Dallas Mavericks presents Mavs Spiked!

Why: Back by popular demand, Another Mavericks Production is back for year two of Mavs Spiked!, a totally rad, glow-in-the-dark sand volleyball tournament and party. Each team entry includes event tanks, beach towels, $25 vouchers for Mavs game tickets, glow-sticks, drinks, and more provided by generous Mavs sponsors. The event is capped at 56 teams. At this coed event, each team will consist of 6-8 players – six on the court at a time with two optional subs. there must be two males and two females on the court at a time. Prizes up for grabs include an 18-person suite to a Mavs game, Mavs merchandise, a fancy trophy to show-off to friends, and gifts from generous sponsors.

Why: Going into its 5th year, Dallas Hip-Hop Dance Festival (DHDF) remains the ultimate urban dance experience combining both top-notch dance education and entertainment, with an underground battle and crew competition. Being the first of its kind in the Dallas area, DHDF strives to showcase the positive aspects of the hip-hop culture by highlighting its legacy as an agent of artistic progression. Why: Founded by Amy Poehler, Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company performs a night of provocative sketch comedy and absurd improv. A veritable incubation lab for comedy talent, the Upright Citizens Brigade Touring Company cast is hand-picked from the best improv comedians in the country and has previously featured such luminaries as Jack McBrayer, Horatio Sanz, Ed Helms, Ellie Kemper, Rob Corddry, Rob Riggle, and Adam McKay, among many others.

What: The Giving Table at Trinity Groves

Why: The Giving Table at Trinity Groves will be held in honor of the recent tragedy involving Dallas Police Department and DART officers. Hosted by Sharon Van Meter, Katherine Clapner, Brian McCullough, and Lisa Moore, the food and beverage industry unites for a family-style dinner prepared by Dallas’ finest chefs and restaurants, cocktails, live entertainment, and a silent auction. 100 percent of the proceeds from The Giving Table will benefit the families of the DPD and DART officers as well as the Dallas Police Explorer Program
